Covid-19 Procedures

KEEPING YOUR CHILDREN SAFE

Here at Playfeet, your child’s safety and security is paramount. We've worked hard to adapt our classes to meet the latest government guidelines while preserving all the benefits of confidence-building fun and developing social skills that make Playfeet special. So you can relax knowing all our classes are as safe as we can possibly make them.

While there are changes in the way we do things, what hasn't changed is the fun, energy and professionalism of our workshops, our unique singing and dancing activities and the laughter and benefits your child will experience every day they attend Playfeet.

Social distancing

  • Registration takes place at the main door of the venue for a socially distanced face-to-face handover and parents will not be permitted to enter venues.
  • Registration Forms are now online rather than paper, eliminating the need for physical signing at the venue. All Registration Forms must be electronically signed before a child is admitted.
  • Maximum class sizes have been set with reference to venue size and government guidelines.
  • Children are grouped in consistent bubbles that never meet.
  • Children are allocated their own special 'Playfeet pods' to use as their base for the class positioned 1 metre from other children.
  • Teachers each have a dedicated 'teaching space' which is 2 metres from the children and each other.
  • There are no contact or direct hand-holding activities.
  • When entering or leaving the room, the teachers ensure that the children are at the required social distance.

Hand washing and hygiene

  • There are regular hygiene checks and cleaning of multi-touch surfaces before, during and after classes.
  • Children use hand sanitiser before entering and leaving the class.
  • Hand sanitiser and tissues are available at all times and handwashing (for 20 seconds) will take place at regular intervals.
  • The children are reminded about Catch It, Bin It, Kill It at every class.
  • All venues are ventilated as much as possible without compromising security.

Food and drinks

  • At weekend classes, children can bring their own labelled water bottle.
  • Where used, all lunch boxes and water bottles will be wiped down before use.
  • Children are reminded not to share food or drink with anyone and are asked to wash their hands before and after they eat.
  • Water bottles are placed on a table and the children are able to visit the table when they need a drink.

Clothing and bags

  • Parents will be asked to take any coats or bags home once they have dropped off their child as we are unable to store them at the venue.

Medication and first aid

  • Regular reminders will be made to all parents not to attend if their child is displaying Coronavirus symptoms.
  • Any medication should be given to the Teacher who will store this safely, as normal.
  • At least one teacher in each class has up to date paediatric first aid training and qualifications.
  • In line with the new guidelines, teachers will wear a mask, gloves and an apron when administering any first aid.

Symptoms

If your child or a member of your household has recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive or has symptoms of COVID-19), you must self-isolate for 10 full days following your contact with that person.
